Me and My Ghost

I hope Bill knows that he's marrying a total psycho. It's been a miserable, feverish, Nyquil filled week and I think it's the over-the-counter cold remedies, but I've been having these mildly disturbing dreams with reoccurring themes.

Mr. Broadus
In these dreams I'm reunited with my an old flame and we get into different awkward situations. My ex-boyfriend in these dreams is none other than the doggfather himself ... Snoop. In one dream our green Astro van swipes a big white van. Something happens but Snoop and I end up racing out of the parking lot on foot. We get to my parents' house and it's time to introduce him to mom and dad. He tells me not to worry because parents love him. Oh, O.K. then. Before we go into the house I Febreeze him.

School Daze
My friends and I are walking to school. It's a snowy day and I think I forgot to study for a history test. I try to cram but don't recognize anything in the text books. The names, dates, and events are all very unfamiliar. I sit down to take the test and all the questions are surprisingly easy. Name someone. Is yellow a good hat color? True or False: You like patent leather shoes. Yes. Definitely. I've been looking for a pair of flats in patent leather... either black or red. Rounded toe, dark red.

Pride & Prejudice

Tonight I had dinner with my friend Abe. He had Cajun fettuccine and I had miso salmon. It was nice to catch up with him and we had a good conversation. Abe is very eloquent and I like to hear him talk. He gave me the following scenario. Let me know what you think.

You are an Asian American who enrolls to take a course about the history of Chinese Buddhism. On the first day of class you find that your instructor is a not Chinese. The instructor is a white man. How do you feel about this? Specifically, how do you feel this will effect your education?

There are a couple of factors to keep in mind: (1) you were not born here (2) The instructor is undoubtedly more knowledgeable than you.

TV Adventures

I have no loyalties... at least not to any one television show. It's too much of a committment to have to meet in my living room at the same time every week. For those of you who are thinking "Duh... TIVO" - I say NO! It just becomes a to-do list to get through.

Maybe it's all the commercials and billboards but a lot of shows this season seem very interesting. I started my TV adventures with my mom. The first show we watched was Flavor of Love. It was like a car crash that you can't stop staring at. Long story short, there are girls competing for Flavor Flav's heart, he is down to 3 girls and has invited the girls' parents to visit at the mansion. There is drama and one of the mamas is determined to bring her daughter home with her. We think there may be a smack down in the next episode. My mom says that we have to watch the next one.

Next up... The Bachelor. He's a prince and it's all very lovely but once you go Flav you can't go back.

I also watched Heroes and liked it. Dancing With the Stars was OK. Woo! That Mario Lopez! Yesterday I caught a part of an episode of MTV's Laguna Beach and it was a waste of time and it made me mad. Thank goodness Cerritos is LA County because I don't want to be part of that OC riff-raff. Last up was The Nine. This show makes me nervous.
