San Friendcisco
Besides the cold weather, I generally like San Francisco. There's good public transportation, cute neighborhoods, yummy places to eat, and one never has to worry about dressing up to go anywhere. What I like best are the friends that live (or have recently moved) there.

Two weekends ago I was in SF for a tradeshow and stayed with Ju Yon and Stella at their apartment on Haight and Ashbury. Although I spent most of the time at work, it was nice to come "home" to them and hear about how they spent the day. We don't speak on a day-to-day basis so it was really nice to be able to.
We also installed a clapper for Stella's room that controlled her floor lamp. The clapper can be adjusted to be very sensitive or less sensitive to noise. So the three of us sat there testing it.. clap-clap-clapping. The best part was it would go erratically on and off when we laughed.
In first grade I remember being enrolled in ESL class. After each session, I would be excused and instructed to walk back to my regular classroom. One day a student teacher saw me walking by myself and was nice enough to walk me back to my classroom except that she took me to the special ed classroom. I thought that was where she has wanted me to go - like it was another part of ESL class. So I stayed and sang songs with my new classmates. I distinctly remember being frustrated because everyone was clapping to a different beat. It's like dancing with a guy with no rhythm... but I digress.
Another highlight was watching Stella and Ju Yon trying to wake Casey up because we didn't have enough beds for everyone to sleep in. I suggested that we put the last piece of pizza in his pants but no one wanted to put it there so Stella just punched him in the kidney several times. Surprisingly, this did not phase him at all and he continued to sleep on the oh so cold floor until morning waking up with cable cord imprinted on his face and his shoes still on.
