Almost Famous

About a month ago Bill and I stumbled across these Swedish made chairs while searching for breakfast early one Saturday morning. I love the curved top rail. The lines are reminiscent of Hans J. Wegner's legendary Wishbone Chair although ours is not quite as elegant. The chairs were in sad condition with layers upon layers of tacky fabric hot glued to the seat and cushion. The next day we visited the fabric district and picked out a nice fabric to recover the chair. At work, I cut and shaped a new cushion for the seat. Because the fabric we chose was so rigid and had no give whatsoever, Abel, our talented upholsterer helped me pull the fabric down tight. Here it is - refurbished with a new cushion and upholstery. It just needs a little bit of oil to shine away the nicks and scratches.
