Vee

Early this week, we were informed that the body of our friend Veronica Ruiz was found in the hills of Mount Tamalpias. I was really hoping that Vee had gone on a spontaneous vacation or trip and that she would come back and be alright.

Bill and I first heard of her disappearance while we were in Taiwan. We searched the internet for news and came upon an article where Vee's mom expressed concern about Vee being cold at night. I'm not sure why this sticks out in my mind.

My heart feels heavy and I'm very sad about Vee's passing. I spoke to my dad and he said that sometimes people are unfortunate not to have someone beside them when it is most needed. I'm not sure if it is an absence of fortune or misguided fate but I can't seem to understand.

Vee is loved and will be missed.
